​Who We Are
We’re a group of locals from Mount Gambier, South Australia, who, after a trip to Cambodia in 2019, came home changed. What struck us most wasn’t just the poverty — it was the warmth, kindness and resilience of the people we met.
It began with a simple idea: to do something meaningful and lasting. Cows for Kids was born from that hope — turning cattle donations from our region into food, shelter and education for children in Cambodia.

100% of all funds raised go to projects that matter: keeping kids in school, putting food on the table, and helping families build safer homes.
Our Impact So Far
Why Cambodia?
Cambodia is a country shaped by deep history and quiet strength. It’s home to ancient temples, floating villages, and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
But life isn’t easy. The country is still recovering from the devastating impact of the Khmer Rouge regime, which took the lives of nearly a quarter of the population in the 1970s.
Today, Cambodia is growing and developing, but many families are still doing it tough — living without basic services, clean housing or access to proper education. We focus our efforts in Siem Reap, where small changes can mean a world of difference for the next generation.

Our Work
Our projects aim to make everyday life better — not just for today, but for the future.

In Veal Village, a rural community near Siem Reap, we helped build a school that now gives around 100 children the chance to learn English and basic computer skills. We also employ two local teachers to support their learning every day.
We support a nearby orphanage by helping provide food, bedding and basic supplies — easing the load for children and carers doing their best with very little.
And each year, we rebuild homes for families living in on Kampong Phluk, a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. Many families in this area live in homes that are fragile and weather-worn. For around $1,500 USD, we can rebuild a safe, secure space that gives a family comfort and stability.

We host local auctions and raffles throughout the year. You can sponsor a project or donate to help cover urgent needs.

If you’re on the land, you can even agist a donated cow and raise it on your property until it’s ready for market. It’s a small effort that makes a big difference for a family in Cambodia.
